Invalid HELO name

by Feeder on Nov.22, 2009, under Web Hosting Talk

I have an hosting account on Namecheap.
I did setup an email account there and I mostly only used it to participate in online contests (I have been pretty lucky so far this year).

The problem is that I noticed that some emails never reach my inbox because they are blocked by the Namecheap filter for having an invalid HELO name.

Now I understand that it’s a normal general sanitary checking and that this is a misconfiguration on the sender part.

The problem is that I noticed that a lot of senders do the mistake. It’s not only a few senders and not the smallest companies.

Some serious companies like musiqueplus.com, radio-canada.ca and TVA.ca can’t reach me.

I tried with my other account on MICFO and the emails are also rejected.

If you want to check if you can receive those emails just try to create an account on musiqueplus.com it takes about 10 seconds. (musiqueplus.com is the muchmusic of Quebec). They are sending you a confirmation email. I only receive it if I use my ISP email address.

So…all this to come to the following question..

What can I do ? :)
Do you know of a web host that would let me receive those emails ? Or is there a setting in the cpanel to change ?
