Looking for a West Coast host

Hi,
Am after a VPS host on the west coast (pref. around LAX or SJC but I may consider a Texas DC) as this will provide the lowest ping times back to Australia.
Currently I am paying about $23US for a 512MB Xen VPS with DirectAdmin(I think it’s about 500GB bandwidth) but I am not too happy with their uptime.
Does anyone know of any decent VPS providers that are around the price I am currently paying? I would need a DirectAdmin license included, or a cPanel license but only if the host can help with migration.
